Lucknow : The Festival Logo and Poster of the world’s biggest International Children’s Film Festival (ICFF-2019) organized by City Montessori School, was unveiled today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief Guest, Shri Rajan Shukla, IAS, Principal Secretary, Civil Defence and Political Pension, UP, inaugurated the function amidst scientillating educational-cultural programme and unveiled the festival logo and festival poster of ICFF-2019. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Chief Guest, Shri Rajan Shukla, IAS, said that children’s film festival is a golden opportunity for the students, teachers, parents and all the citizens of Lucknow as they can enjoy the best children’s films of the world free of charge as well as understand the varied culture and customs of the world. Principals of several noted schools of Lucknow and other eminent citizens were present there on this occasion. It is worth mentioning here that the Films Division of City Montessori School is organizing the 11th ICFF-2019 from 4 to 12 April 2019 at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. More than 1654 children’s films from 101 countries will be shown free of charge during the 9 days of ICFF. Unveiling ceremony was followed by a press conference, where Dr. Jagdish Gandhi briefed the journalists over the aims and objectives of this mega event. He said that this film festival is an integral part of education and not a mere means of entertainment. CMS believes that audio-visual is one of the most powerful approaches in teaching values to children because they imprint deep on their tender minds, therefore, CMS has taken up the responsibility to show good films free of charge to children to keep them away from violent and obscene movies. Mr V Kurian, HOD, CMS Films Division and Festival Director of ICFF-2019 informed this Children’s Film Festival is absolutely free of charge for one and all. There will be two shows daily from 9 am to 12 noon and 12 noon to 3 pm. Besides, several leading bollywood personalities and child actors will be registering their presence at the film festival to motivate and inspire the young viewers. These child actors include Anushka Sen, Japtej Singh, Rudra Soni, Aman Siddiqui, Rubal Jain and Darsheel Safari etc. Apart from this, cash prizes worth Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh) will be awarded to the best children’s film under various categories. The selection of best children’s film will be done by an international jury comprising Mr Nils Mamros form Denmark, Ms Lali Kiknavelidze from Georgia, Mr Vidyashankar N Nois, Mr Shyama Prasad and Mr Vinod Ganatra from India. Mr Kurian further stated that CMS makes elaborate arrangements for nearly one lakh students of over 500 schools in the city of Lucknow. Till date around 75,000 students have been registered for viewing 11th ICFF 2019. Mr Hari Om Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS said that for the past many years CMS has been engaged in imparting meaningful education of moral and character building values through educative films. He hoped that this 11th International Children’s Film Festival will also prove to be a milestone in the history of children’s films.
